Woman charged with manslaughter following Thursday’s fatal crash

A 67-year-old woman, identified as Annie Mae Carson, has been taken into custody and accused of manslaughter following a vehicular incident on Thursday morning.

Reports from the Vicksburg Police Department suggest that Carson hit 61-year-old Kenny Ray Smith, who was walking at the time, on North Washington Street Thursday morning.

Smith succumbed to the injuries he sustained.

Carson faces multiple charges including manslaughter, culpable negligence, careless driving, and driving on the wrong side of the road that led to the crash.

The reasons for the mishap are yet to be determined and the case is currently under investigation.
