Woman finds herself entrapped in vehicle after leaving roadway Friday night
Shortly before midnight on Friday, rescue crews were at the scene on I-20 East, just past 61 North, where a vehicle left the roadway and entered some brush which left a woman entrapped.
Friday night, a 2018 Chevy left the median and entered a thick patch of weeds alongside the roadway. A woman driver found herself entrapped within the vehicle.
Several calls were routed before Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace located her. The woman called a family member, who then got ahold of the Louisiana State Police, who in turn notified Warren County dispatch of the situation.
Limited information was given, the only thing known at the time is that the woman was somewhere between Highway 61 North and the Interstate scales.
Luckily, Pace was able to locate the vehicle when he caught the reflection of his flashlight off the tire that was mounted to the back of the vehicle and tail light. Vicksburg firefighters and Warren County firefighters were on the scene within minutes of Pace locating the victim.
Her injuries did not seem to be too severe, though she did complain of some chest pains. She was transported to the hospital to be further evaluated.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol will be in charge of the investigation.
