Ruby Howell, 70, was found guilty of a misdemeanor in Oktibbeha County Wednesday, Aug. 28.

The charge, threatening exhibition of a weapon, came from Howell’s confronting an African American couple at a Kampground of America in Starkville last May over their lack of a reservation. Howell was brandishing a hand gun.

The incident, which was captured on video, resulted in KOA firing Howell, who managed the property.

Howell was ordered to pay a $250 fine and $182.50 in court fees in Oktibbeha County Justice Court.
