Two Hinds County women were robbed by two men under the guise of buying a car she saw online.

At about 5:30 p.m. a woman from Hinds County drove her neighbor to Vicksburg to meet someone so she could buy a car she saw online. They met on McAuley behind the old Mercy Hospital. When they arrived two men she described as black males brandished a handgun and what she called an assault style weapon and robbed the two Hinds County women.

Vicksburg Police Officer Dane Davenport was the first on the scene and took the report for the women.

Numerous detectives and other police units worked the area looking for the silver sedan the men used to drive away.

No one was injured.

Vicksburg Police have a location in front of the main police station on Veto specially marked for “Internet Transactions” and encourage the public to use a high traffic location like that for any internet purchase.

Reportedly the women were robbed for $2000.
