Two Vicksburg natives scored a touchdown in their first collegiate football games of the season on Thursday, which ended with two victories.

Former Warren Central High School football player Joe Shorter scored on a long touchdown pass for Albany State University. The team went on to defeat Mississippi College 24-0. Fans can watch his outstanding catch below:

Levi Wyatt, former Vicksburg High and Holmes County Central quarterback, scored the first touchdown of the night for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College when he landed on a dropped punt snap. MGCCC brought home a 56-14 victory against Holmes.

Wyatt will be in action next Thursday when MGCC plays Northeast Mississippi Community College while Shorter will play on September 11 when Albany faces Shorter University.
