Yazoo native Kenneth Gainwell got drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles

Yazoo City native Kenneth Gainwell has now been drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Eagles made the announcement on Twitter just a short time ago of them selecting Gainwell.

Gainwell spent his high school days staring at Yazoo County High before moving on to the University of Memphis.

In 2019, the dominating running back rushed for 1,459 yards  and 13 touchdowns, while catching 51 passes and racking up 610 receiving yards.

Gainwell opted out of the 2020 season due to the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic but he has now landed a spot with the Eagles where he can continue playing the game he loves.
