YMCA Summer-Campers take part in Biology on the Battlefield

The Vicksburg National Military Park played host to Vicksburg YMCA Summer-Campers last week to take part in Biology on the Battlefield.

The campers were able to enjoy several educational and physical activities as part of the youth program.

Campers were led on a one mile hike by Natural Resource Manager Chuck Beightol, which served to educate them about staying active and safe while in an outdoor setting. The campers also took part in plant and animal identification activities by using binoculars to observe their surroundings.

The park plans to host the same experience for their Junior Ranger Day-Campers on July 8.
