The Vicksburg Police Department is cracking down on anyone under the age of 18 at the Vicksburg Mall without a parent or guardian.

The notification comes after another rough weekend at the mall last weekend. Several people were arrested and several vehicles were towed after complaints of unruly behavior in the mall parking lot near the bowling alley.

In a message on social media, Chief Penny Jones posted:

ATTENTION:
TO ALL PATRONS OF THE VICKSBURG MALL,
IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE OUR COMMUNITY SAFER FOR OUR CHILDREN, THE VICKSBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT WILL BE STIRCTLY ENFORCING
MISSISSIPPI CODE 97-5-39.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL LEAD TO A FINE OF $672.25 PER CHILD.
PLEASE DON’T DROP YOUR CHILDREN OFF AT THE MALL. THEY MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN.
CHIEF PENNY JONES
