Yvonne “Pat” Foster Williams, 1948 – 2022

A celebration of Life for will be held for Yvonne “Pat” Foster Williams on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at St. Mark Freewill Baptist Church. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 12, at C.J. Williams Mortuary Services, 4310 Halls Ferry Road, with family being present from 5 to 6 pm.
Yvonne Williams was born September 21, 1948, to the late Eddie Bernell and Cora Belle Foster in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie (Cora Belle) Foster; sister, Mary (Johnny) Fletcher; and brother, Edward Bunch.
She confessed Christ at an early age at St. Mark Freewill Baptist and played piano for a number of years. Her spiritual journey would lead her to become a mother at St. Mark Freewill Baptist Church. As a young lady, she attended and graduated from Temple High School in 1966. She then enrolled at Alcorn State University, fall term, where she would meet her “Soul Mate” Willie in social science class (he saved her a seat the next day, the rest is history). After graduation, she went on to have a successful career as a social worker. Yvonne and Willie were joined in holy matrimony on August 9, 1970, and that fifty-two year union produced DeVol and Janzi. She was widely known for her work “flowering” in her yard and mentoring young children. She truly loved being outside in the sunshine.
She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Willie Williams; son, Devol J. Williams; daughter, Janzi S. Williams; five grandchildren, Jalen Williams, Jazlyn Williams, Jaden Williams, and Jania Williams, all of Kingwood, TX, and Matthias Williams of Vicksburg, MS; nephews, Daryl Fletcher in Maywood, IL, Eugene Bunch, Jr., and Christopher Bunch of Houston, TX; nieces, Kimberly Fletcher of Maywood, IL, and Jeanette Patton of Stockton, CA; and a host of many in-laws, friends, and Maximillion the Dane.
