Zuma cleared to return to duty

Delta’s Marshal Office is once again a complete unit as K-9 Zuma was cleared to return to duty following an examination at the LSU Veterinary Clinic on Thursday.

Zuma underwent surgery last month to correct a congenital heart defect.

According to Owner Nikki Lynn Williams, Doctors say Zuma has had a 65 percent improvement with her heart and will be gradually eased back into to her normal routine.

She has been experiencing some issues with keeping food down but doctors feel it is probably due to the sedation during surgery and medication.
