Zuma is doing well in recovery

Delta Marshals Office K-9 Zuma has returned home following a successful procedure on Wednesday at the LSU Veterinary Clinic to repair a congenital heart defect.

Zuma is privately owned by Delta Marshal David Beckham and Nikki Lynn Williams and is cross trained in narcotics detection and suspect apprehension..

On Friday, Williams stated that though Zuma gave some scares along the way, she is rapidly getting back to health.

The owners were in high spirits, even throughout the event.  “Zuma is supposed to be taking drugs off the streets and now she’s taking more than she’s getting off the streets. My poor baby,” stated Williams in a Facebook post, jokingly.

Zuma is expected to be off for the next month recuperating and is expected to make a complete recovery.
