Warren Central High School girl’s basketball player Zy’kerri Segrest has won the Offensive Player of the Year award for the Vikings.

The award was announced on Facebook by WC head coach Darein Hilliard who expressed how proud he was of the Vikings.

Segrest was only a sophomore this past season, but she helped lead the Vikings with the rest of her young teammates.  She averaged 11.0 points per game, along with 10 rebounds and 3 blocks per game.

One of Segrest’s best performances this season is when she scored half of her team’s points in December against Brandon High School. She scored 15 points in that game. She also helped the Vikings to two big victories last season against Germantown and Hattiesburg High School.

Segrest will be a junior in the upcoming season. She has two years left to shine as a Viking and help lead her team to victories.
