VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Vicksburg Warren School District has maintained its “B” rating for another school year.

“The Vicksburg Warren School District (VWSD) is celebrating another year of academic success, proudly maintaining its “B” rating in the Mississippi Department of Education’s annual accountability results. Behind the letter grade is a bigger story: the collective effort of students, teachers, parents, and community partners, all united by the district’s commitment to its Strategic Framework and long-term vision for excellence.

Superintendent Tori Holloway shared his excitement over the district’s achievement. “Our district is celebrating another year of great test scores! This achievement belongs to our students who gave their very best, our teachers who inspire learning every day, and our administrators and staff who provide the support needed for success. Living out our theme of One District, One Community, Growing Together, we are united in helping every student learn, grow, and shine. I am incredibly proud of our students and grateful for the teachers, administrators, and staff who stand beside them every day. This success reflects the strength of our entire community, and together we will keep growing and building opportunities for every student’s future.”

For several years, VWSD has proudly maintained its “B” rating, a reflection of consistent growth and resilience. But this milestone also underscores progress in tackling the very challenges outlined in the district’s Strategic Framework. The strong performance of VWSD students demonstrates that the district’s priorities are working hand in hand with accountability outcomes:

● Elevating a Shared Purpose and Vision: With a clear focus on aligning curriculum, instruction, and
expectations across all schools, VWSD is proving that students can succeed regardless of where they
attend school.

● Developing a Culture of Collaboration and Support: Teachers, administrators, and staff are uniting
across schools to create professional collaboration and inclusive learning environments that empower
both educators and students.

● Strengthening Community Engagement and Ownership: The “B” rating is a direct reflection of
families, community organizations, and local partners rallying together to support student achievement.

The “B” rating is more than a mark of performance; it is evidence of a district overcoming obstacles, living out its commitments, and growing stronger together. By addressing challenges head-on and embracing a
unifying vision, VWSD is building momentum toward a future where every child has access to the
highest quality education and opportunities.

As Superintendent Holloway emphasized, “This success reflects the strength of our entire community.” The district’s Strategic Framework provides the roadmap, and the accountability rating provides confirmation that Vicksburg Warren is on the right path—moving forward as One Community,One District, Growing Together.”
