BOS approves funds for courthouse retaining wall
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Anyone driving along Monroe Street by the Old Courthouse Museum, will notice barricades and construction fences. This is due to much needed maintenance on the west retaining wall which supports Vicksburg’s beloved historic building.
At the Board of Supervisor‘s meeting held Monday, Jan. 5, the board approved $66,145.34 to be paid to Paul Jackson and Son, Inc. to work on the retaining wall.
BOS President and District 5 Supervisor Kelle Barfield remarked this was an anticipated project.
“I think we are all happy to see the work being done on the wall,” said Barfield.
