Keep Vicksburg Proud

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Keep Vicksburg Warren Beautiful is hosting the official launch of its campaign of Keep Vicksburg Proud with the community-wide Fall Clean Up Day on Friday, Nov. 7. In addition, there will also be a dumpster collection day on Friday, Nov. 7, and Saturday, Nov. 8, at various locations around the community.

“This is more than just a cleanup,” says Callie Eldridge, director of Keep Vicksburg Beautiful. “It’s the start of something big for our community. I hope everyone will want to be a part of the movement from day one.”

“I am excited to participate in the Keep Vicksburg Proud – Fall Community Clean Up Day on November 7th,” said City of Vicksburg Mayor Willis Thompson. “I would like to thank Ms. Callie Eldridge, Director of Keep Vicksburg Beautiful, for organizing this great event. I also thank all who are participating. I encourage everyone in the city to join in the efforts to help clean up our community.

“As stated in the organization’s mission, I envision a country where every community is clean, green, and a beautiful place to live. Together, we can achieve this goal. I look forward to seeing everyone November 7th, as we beautify our city, clean up our streets, and truly make Vicksburg PROUD!”

Volunteers are asked to meet at the green space at Washington Street Park at 8:00 am for assignments and a kickoff. Then participants will spread out across the city to pick up litter, beautify our spaces, and show our pride in Vicksburg.

After the cleanup, volunteers are asked to come back to Washington Street Park to celebrate by collecting their volunteer T-shirt, enjoy live music, and a complimentary lunch.

Volunteers of all ages are welcome and are asked to bring comfortable shoes and a smile. Pickup supplies will be provided. Sign up to volunteer here: https://forms.gle/PsHWCpN52MLMd14t6
