Campbell, Wilmore crowned Mr. and Miss Madison High School in Tallulah

TALLULAH, La. (VDN) — Brendan Campbell and Kennedy Wilmore have been named Mr. and Miss Madison High School. The two were crowned during the school’s coronation ceremony Wednesday night.
Campbell is the son of Brandon Campbell and Latoya Owens. A junior at Madison High, he is a member of Pleasant Grove #1 M.B. Church and has been selected as a Madison Elite student since his freshman year.

“I want to thank everyone who voted for me,” Campbell said. “This is a great feeling and we’re going to have a great time tonight.”
Campbell’s passion is creating and producing apparel under his brand, EST WAVE, which stands for “Everybody Shines Together.” His hobbies include serving as a student ambassador, playing his PS5, spending time with family, reading and watching sports.
An honor student, Campbell prides himself on being respectful, humble and grateful to those who have supported him. He lives by Philippians 4:13 — “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Campbell said the verse reminds him to rely on his faith for strength and guidance through challenges. He credits his grandmother, Gloria Hayden — the first Black female mayor of Tallulah — as his biggest influence.
“Watching her handle so many things in the community and still go home to help raise her grandkids will always be something I’ll remember and be grateful for,” Campbell said.
He also thanked his father for his constant support throughout his campaign and crowning.
Wilmore, who was crowned Miss Madison High, is the daughter of Ernest Wilmore Jr. and Kizzy Bynum-Wilmore. She is the granddaughter of the late Ernest Sr. and Betty Wilmore, and Walter Webster Jr., Deloris Wright and Michael Wright Sr.

“If you told me this would happen three years ago, I wouldn’t believe it,” Wilmore said. “This is unbelievable, and I plan to lead with dignity and leadership.”
She is the goddaughter of Felton and Lorraine Washington Samuel, Afriena Stevenson, and Pastor/Coach Christopher Herring. Wilmore is an active member of Christian Life Ministry, where she serves as a junior prophetess and media support personnel under Chief Apostle LeeRoy and Prophetess Loria Robinson.
At Madison High, Wilmore serves as junior class president and is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. She is president of both the Design and 4-H clubs, head trainer for the Madison Jaguars football team, and a track and field captain competing in shot put.
She has earned CPR certification through A-HEC and OSHA certification in Medical EMT at Madison High. Wilmore is also a former member of JAG, a past Miss Freshman, and was the school’s first Miss Basketball Sweetheart.
Outside of school, she serves as vice president of T.I.A.R.A. Teenz and is a former member of Elegant P.E.A.R.L.S.
Wilmore’s career goals include becoming a realtor and dermatologist. She enjoys traveling, shopping, crafting, designing and “being pampered.”
She lives by Romans 12:19 — “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”
