VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A production shooting in Vicksburg later this month is seeking a male stand-in for actor Ralph Macchio, former Karate Kid star, for a pivotal scene in The Girl in the River.

The role, which will film Thursday, Aug. 21, requires a performer to resemble Macchio in build, height, hair color and skin tone, though an exact match is not necessary. The scene calls for the actor to hoist a 40-pound prop body over a bridge and into the river, so applicants should have adequate upper-body strength.

“Your main task for this part will be to physically hoist (a fake dead body) over the bridge into the river,” said the announcement. “Seeking someone who has adequate upper body strength to be able to lift the approx. 40 lb ‘dummy.’ If you are up for being the one on camera who “gets rid of the body” then we welcome your suggestion via email for this important and pivotal scene in the film. “

Producers are looking for a male between 30 and 60 years old, ideally with a Mediterranean appearance. Macchio’s measurements are 5-foot-9, 162 pounds, 38 regular suit, medium shirt, 32- or 33-inch waist, 32-inch inseam, and 15-inch neck.

The job pays $150 for the day, with payment rendered on set. Applicants must be available to work as a local hire, as no travel or housing costs will be covered.

To apply, email two recent photos — one close-up and one full-body — along with your name, age, location, phone number, and clothing measurements to CastingTGITR@gmail.com. Use the subject line “Your Name for Body Double for Ripley – Aug 21.”

Submissions are due by Monday, Aug. 18.
