City of Vicksburg announces “Dumpster Day” cleanup event

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The City of Vicksburg, in partnership with Keep Vicksburg Beautiful, is hosting a free community-wide Dumpster Day on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this free opportunity to dispose of non-hazardous materials at any of the following convenient drop-off locations:

1.     1533 Rosa A. Temple Dr. (Vicksburg Jr. High School Parking Lot)

2.     257 Halls Ferry Rd. (Bazinsky Ball Park)

3.     5855 U.S. 61 South / Airport Rd.

4.     4000 S. Frontage Rd. (Outlet Mall)

5.     1304 Lane St. (Standfield Church Parking Lot)

Dumpster Day is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to promote community pride and stewardship. Citizens may dispose of furniture, household junk, tires without rims, and other general waste materials.

Items not accepted: paint, appliances or equipment with Freon, old gas tanks, batteries, computers, televisions, fax machines, fluorescent bulbs, or any type of oil.
