PORT GIBSON, Miss. (VDN) — On October 16, 2025, the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department and the Port Gibson Police Department invite the community of Claiborne County to come together for National Night Out, a unique event aimed at fostering partnerships between law enforcement and local residents to create a safer environment. This year, the event will focus on deterring gun violence through positive community engagement and awareness.

The celebration will take place at the Green Lot in Downtown Port Gibson from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Attendees can look forward to a fun-filled evening complete with delicious food, live music, and engaging activities for all ages.

This event is more than just a gathering; it’s an opportunity for members of our community to connect with law enforcement in a positive setting, working together toward a future free of gun violence and a safe environment for everyone.

National Night Out is held annually across the nation and serves to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. This event is coordinated in collaboration with Crime Stoppers and the Victims of Crime Agency (VOCA), both dedicated to supporting victims and preventing crime.

We invite everyone in the Claiborne County community to join us for this important event. Together, we can raise awareness, foster relationships, and work toward a safer community for all.
