Domestic Violence Awareness Walk is October 18

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Haven House is hosting a Domestic Violence Awareness Walk on October 18. The event is open to the public but a $5 donation is requested.
In a press release, Haven House described the walk as, “A powerful event dedicated to shining a light on the impact of domestic violence and showing support for survivors, families, and our community as a whole. This walk is more than just a gathering — it is a symbol of unity, healing, and empowerment. By walking together, we send a clear message: domestic violence has no place in our community, and together we stand with those affected.”
The event is open to the public, “We are calling on community members, local agencies, faith-based organizations, civic groups, schools, and social clubs to walk with us and show visible support. Your presence will not only raise awareness but will also empower individuals by reminding them that they are not alone and that our community stands together against violence.”
The walk will take place at the Pemberton Square Mall on October 18, 2025, at 9 a.m.
Participants are encouraged to wear purple, but it’s not required to join. “Together, we can spark conversations, provide education, and inspire hope for a safer and stronger community. We hope you will join us in this important effort. With your support, we can create lasting change and provide a voice for those who cannot always speak for themselves.”
