First Baptist Church of Vicksburg to host inaugural ‘Christmas on Cherry Street’
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The First Baptist Church of Vicksburg will host the inaugural Christmas on Cherry Street, a new community Christmas production that brings the story of Jesus’ birth to life in an interactive and immersive way. The event will take place Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, at 6 p.m. at the church, located at 1607 Cherry St.
This year’s theme, “See the Star,” invites guests to experience the wonder of the first Christmas night. Upon arrival, visitors will enter through a recreated stable representing the birthplace of Jesus, then walk through a courtyard designed to resemble the town of Bethlehem. The area will be filled with the sights and sounds of that holy night.
Inside, attendees can enjoy special choral and orchestral performances, along with dramatic portrayals of biblical characters who tell the story of the Savior’s birth — the night when hope and light entered the world.
Organizers encourage families, friends, and neighbors to attend this community-wide celebration. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome to participate.
“Come and see the star — and the story that changed everything,” the church’s announcement reads.
