VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — LiveWire Tattoo Studio has officially opened in Vicksburg, giving local residents another option for body art. The shop is owned and operated by Vicksburg native Travis Lane, who has been tattooing for more than eight years.

Lane said opening his own business was the next step in his career.

“I knew that there weren’t many shops locally, so I wanted to pass around art here in Vicksburg,” Lane said. “Seeing how happy people are when they see a tattoo on themselves made me fall in love with it.”

Lane trained at the Master Tattoo Institute in Miami, Florida, where he said he learned different styles and techniques. He has also added another experienced artist to the shop — Daniel, who has been tattooing for about 14 years.

“As a team we’re growing together and learning from each other,” Daniel said.

Daniel began drawing at a young age before taking his first job at a tattoo shop in Jasper, Texas. Although he gained some early instruction there, he said much of his work is self-taught.

LiveWire Tattoo Studio is located at 3211 Wisconsin Ave., Suite D. Lane said he strives to keep prices affordable.

“I want everyone to know that we’re willing to work with them, and it’s not going to cost you your life savings to come in here,” he said.

The shop accepts walk-ins but prefers appointments. Customers can book through Lane’s or Daniel’s Facebook pages by clicking their links.
