Man Found Hanging From Tree in Vicksburg Identified

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A man was found hanging from a tree Monday in a wooded area near a Vicksburg casino, authorities said. The Vicksburg Police Department responded to the scene after receiving reports of the incident.

The Warren County Coroner’s Office also responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene. Capt. Curtis Judge identified the man as Cory Zukatis of Brandon, Mississippi. Judge said the case is currently being handled as a death investigation and that Zukatis’ family has been notified.

Authorities have not released any additional information regarding the circumstances of the death. The Vicksburg Daily News will provide updates as they are released.
