Mark McGraw, Sr. 1968-2025

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) – Mark McGraw Sr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 7, 2025. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sherry Jean McGraw, and his two brothers, Michael and Matthew McGraw. He is survived by his son, Mark McGraw Jr and wife Edrielyn; his daughter Madelynn Thompson and her husband Kemarri and their child, Mark Sr.’s grandson, Phineas Thompson; his sister-in-law Carolyn Briggs; and his father Elbert Louie McGraw.
Mark was born on December 23, 1968 in Summit, Mississippi, where he lived his mother, Sherry, and his father, Elbert. He later moved to Vicksburg, Mississippi and went on to live a life full of friendships and impact in his community. Mark was a Christian hip-hop artist that went by the name of M.C.T.O.C, which stood for “Making Crowds Think of Christ” and he brought his act to several different churches and foster homes to spread the message of Christ through his community. Mark was proud of his two children, Mark and Madelynn, and would be seen at any of their events happily.
Whether it be choir practice or the opening night of a musical, Mark Sr. was always there to support his children. Mark had a contagious personality. Ask anyone that knows him – he was a man of many words, and he had a genuine love for life that affected everyone around him. His love for his family and his friends was what defined him, and he made sure to let everyone know it. Though his life went too soon at the age of 56, his legacy and impact will go on through the ages.
