Mutual Credit Union disposal event on Earth Day

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — In honor of Earth Day, Mutual Credit Union is partnering with the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office to host a free community disposal event on Thursday, April 25.

The event will be held at Mutual’s Cherry Street branch drive-thru from 8 a.m. to noon. Area residents are invited to safely dispose of sensitive documents, unused medications, and unwanted electronics — all at no cost.

Shredding services will be available for personal residential files only. Residents are encouraged to bring sensitive documents for secure on-site shredding. No business or commercial materials will be accepted.

For medicine disposal, unused or expired medications can be dropped off for safe handling. Liquids and needles cannot be accepted.

The event also offers free disposal of electronic devices, including desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and cell phones. Organizers stress that this service is for safe and environmentally responsible recycling of personal devices.
