Obituary-Terry Lee Wash Sr.

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Terry Lee Wash Sr., age 70, formerly of Vicksburg, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in Memphis, Tennessee. Born in Decatur, Mississippi, he lived a life marked by strength, compassion, and a deep devotion to his family.

A proud retiree of FedEx, he was also a passionate youth league coach who dedicated many years to mentoring and inspiring young athletes. His guidance, leadership, and genuine care left a lasting impact on generations of children and families throughout the community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferry and Vellie Mae Wash; three brothers, Joseph Wash, Anthony Wash, and Owen Wash; and three sisters, Cynthia Wash-Donerson, Betty Jean Wash-Barnes, and Deloris Wash.

He is survived by his wife, Lorell Wash of Memphis, Tennessee; his sons, Terry Lee Wash Jr. (Sheena) of Memphis, Tennessee, and Terry L. Sadler of Atlanta, Georgia; and his daughter, Latoya Wash of Memphis, Tennessee. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brother, Willie Wash; his sisters, Connie Wash of Lake, Mississippi, Jeanette Wash of Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Melinda Wash of Green Bay, Wisconsin. In addition, he is lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends—including the Burks, Barnes, Brown, Hall, Wilson, and Davis families—all of whom will continue to carry his memory with love.
