One injured in fire

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg Fire Department responded to a fire on Hillcrest Street in Vicksburg, Monday, Dec. 22, where only one injury was reported.

VFD Battalion 1 under the supervision of Captain Henry Williams with Engines 6 and 7, Platform 1, Rescue and FM40 responded to a structure fire at 901 Hillcrest Street around 9:40 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22.

Upon arrival, there was no one inside the home. The rear of the structure was involved in fire and crews made an offensive attack limiting the amount of damage to the rear side of the home..

VFD reported one minor injury to a firefighter due to stepping in a hole.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
