VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN)Onyx Village II of Vicksburg has been awarded a $227,000 grant from the Mississippi Delta Health Collaborative to help prevent and control high blood pressure and reduce health disparities associated with hypertension among adults throughout the Mississippi Delta region.

The grant will support programs designed to increase awareness, expand access to blood pressure screenings, and strengthen partnerships between community organizations and healthcare providers. These efforts aim to improve health outcomes and promote equity in cardiovascular care across the Delta.

Mack Pampley III, Co-Director of Onyx Village II, expressed his excitement about the new partnership. “We are honored to work with the Mississippi Delta Health Collaborative and look forward to helping residents of Warren County and surrounding Delta counties take charge of their heart health,” Pampley said. “Together, we can make lasting progress in preventing and managing high blood pressure in our communities.”

Founded in 2002, Onyx Village II has remained committed to advancing community health through education, prevention, and empowerment.

“I am extremely proud of our team and the continued expansion of services we provide,” said Kimberly Stevens, Founder of Onyx Village II. “This grant allows us to build on our mission of improving health and reducing disparities that affect so many families in the Delta.”
