VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Roberta Green Denham, a Vicksburg resident, passed away Monday, Oct. 13, following a sudden illness. She was 93.  She was a retired educator having worked for the Vicksburg Warren School District.  She was a member of the Mt. Aarat M. B. Church, the Order of the Easter Star New Vicksburg Chapel #1. Additionally, she was the Worthy Matron for Rose of Sharon Order of the Eastern Star, the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, and other social and civic organizations

She was preceded in death by her parents Phillip L. and Florence Bingham Green, her brother Willie Green, her sister Flora Green Moore, and her husband Hollis Denham.

She is survived by her daughters Yolanda Denham Johnson of Jackson, Miss., and Cassandra Denham Terry of Vicksburg, Miss.; her sister Mary Florence Jones of Detroit, Mich.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and others.

Funeral services are to be held Thursday. Oct. 23, in the chapel of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Johnny Williams officiating; interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.  Viewing will be held Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
