Rooted Women’s Conference: Strengthening Faith Together

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) – While husbands, dads, and brothers spent their Saturday afternoon watching football, more than 180 women filled Crossway Church for something deeper: being “rooted in Christ.”
The Rooted Women’s Conference, a one-day event, was designed to help women cultivate a stronger faith and build an unshakable foundation in God. Christy Wilson, Crossway Women’s Ministry director, said the conference was not only a time of teaching but also of fellowship, reflection, and encouragement for women seeking to grow spiritually.
“This conference reminds us that being rooted in Christ grounds us and equips us to stand firm when the world shifts and changes,” Christy said.
The conference featured four speakers who shared practical tools and biblical insight. Stacy Tennison opened with a session on how to study the Bible, giving attendees step-by-step guidance. Erin Stache followed with a message on prayer, while Sonya Auston spoke about discovering spiritual gifts. Participants then completed a survey to learn more about their own gifts before hearing from Cindy McCarley, who explained how to use those gifts to serve others.
The women enjoyed a delicious meal together between sessions, giving them time to connect with one another and build relationships with women of all ages and backgrounds.
The day concluded with communion, a moment of unity and reflection that tied together the lessons of the conference. Many women left not only with a clearer sense of their spiritual gifts but also with renewed encouragement to live them out in their homes, churches and communities.
“Rooted” may have lasted just one day, but for the women who attended, it offered inspiration that organizers hope will continue to grow long after the final prayer.
