Sample Ballot for upcoming November 5 General Election

VICKSBURG, MS – The 2024 November General Election is less than a month away. Below you can view a sample ballot for the November 5 election which includes offices of President, U.S. Senate, U.S. Representative, Supreme Court Justice, and Court of Appeals Judge, as well as some special elections.

Polls for the General Election will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Any voter who is in line at 7 p.m. is legally entitled to cast a ballot.

For those unable to visit the polls on Election Day, in-person and mail-in absentee ballots are available in Circuit Clerk’s Offices. To verify eligibility, Mississippians may utilize the Y’all Vote website, which includes an Absentee Voting FAQ and Step-by-Step Guide to Absentee Voting, or you can contact the Circuit Clerk’s office. The last day to vote in-person absentee is November 2 while mail-in absentee ballots must be postmarked on or before November 5 (Election Day).

Notice on Ballot Order and Wording of Ballot

The order of the sample ballot was set by the State Board of Election Commissioners in accordance with Miss. Code Ann. Section 23-15-367, which provides nominees of political parties shall be listed first and organized alphabetically by candidate last name. After political party nominees, independent candidates are listed alphabetically by candidate last name.

Furthermore, the wording of “Presidential Electors for” appearing before each candidate for President of the United States and Vice-President of the United States is required by Miss. Code Ann.
