St. AIoysius High School boys’ basketball team competed in the MRA team camp this week and came away with a 10-1 record in pool play. The Flashes had wins over Columbia Academy, JA 9th grade team, Riverfield, Delta, Central Holmes(twice), Regents of Oxford, Ben’s Ford, Leake, and Greenville Christian. Their only loss was to Amite County.

Bracket play started Wednesday afternoon and the Flashes opened up with wins over Clarksdale, Lee, and Delta Streets before falling to Marshall Academy in the semifinals.

St Al will be returning 4 of the 5 starters from last year’s team and is looking to improve on last year’s 15-13 record. Coach Hallberg stated”I’m excited for the upcoming season, we have almost our entire team returning and the goal is to have at least 20 wins this year and make a deep run in the playoffs. I’m expecting big things from this group.”

The Flashes will officially begin their season in the late Fall.
