Two Vicksburg murder suspects captured in Indiana

KOKOMO, Ind.(VDN) — Two Vicksburg murder suspects were captured in Indiana on Sunday morning.

Eighteen-year-olds Arkeyveion Stamps and Quintin Wilson were taken into custody by the Kokomo Police Department after being wanted for murder in Vicksburg, according to authorities. The pair were sought in connection with the shooting death of Jaylon Walker, who was killed on Highway 61 South on Feb. 11.

At approximately 11:16 p.m. on February 11, 2026, officers with the Vicksburg Police Department responded to an E-911 call involving a male individual along Highway 61 South near Demby Drive who was reported to have suffered a gunshot wound. Walker, of Hermanville, Mississippi, was found deceased inside his car.

Kokomo police said officers located the suspects at a residence east of Kokomo and executed a search warrant at 8 a.m. Sunday.

“During the late evening hours of February 21, 2026, officers of the Kokomo Police Department were contacted by the Vicksburg, Mississippi Police Department. This was in reference to suspects in a Vicksburg murder possibly being in Kokomo,”‘they released in a statement.

“C watch officers of KPD began to attempt to locate the suspect vehicle. Officers located the suspect vehicle at a residence east of Kokomo. As a result of the investigation, the KPD SWAT, Drone, and Negotiator teams  executed a search warrant at the residence at approximately 8:00 am on February 22. After a brief negotiation, officers took two 18 year old males into custody for First Degree Murder.”

“No injuries were reported during this incident. The Kokomo Police Department was assisted by the Indiana State Police and Howard County Sheriff’s Department.”
