VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) Sh’Vante Wiggins, City of Vicksburg Youth Service Coordinator, proudly announces the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Men’s Unity Day Walk, titled “100 Men in 100 Suits,” to be held on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The Unity Day Walk will begin at 11 a.m. at the City of Vicksburg Central Fire Station and conclude at Vicksburg City Hall, symbolizing unity and purpose among men in the community. Participants are encouraged to wear suits or their best professional dress attire as a commitment to professionalism, leadership, and service.

“Dr. King challenged us not only to dream, but to act,” said Wiggins. “The ‘100 Men in 100 Suits’ walk is about showing up with intention, standing together in unity, and uplifting our community through both presence and action. We encourage men of all walks of life to participate in the event, with the hope that these men will become mentors to our younger community members. We are especially hoping faith leaders, civic leaders, professionals, and students come together to honor Dr. King’s legacy. ”

In addition to the walk, participants and supporters are encouraged to donate neckties, belts, dress shirts, and dress shoes. These items will be collected to support individuals in need of professional attire for employment, education, and personal advancement.

Community members are invited to attend, participate, and contribute donations. The walk will begin promptly at 11 a.m. followed by a small ceremony of community and civic leaders coming together in support of one another. For more information or to get involved, please contact Sh’Vante Wiggins at 601-801-2311.
