VHS defeats Terry 15-5 on Senior Night

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Vicksburg High School softball team celebrated Senior Night in style as they came out with a win over Terry. The Missy Gators finished with a 15-5 win to improve to 9-14 in their regular-season finale.
Seniors Trinity McGloster, Avery VanNorman, Makenzie Dunmore, Lili Kistler, and Zion Harvey had their families present as their names were called to be recognized before the action started. Each senior pulled their weight in a win as they ended the regular season with another win.

McGloster ended the game with a double and two hits along with an RBI. VanNorman went 2 for 4 at the plate while Dunmore went 2 for 3 with one RBI. Kistler had one hit, and one run as well as striking out three batters on the night. Harvey was a primary reason why the game ended an inning early when she hit the final RBI of the night. She also went 2 for 4 at the plate.

The Missy Gators started the game off hot as they picked up seven runs in the first inning. By the end of the second, VHS was up 10-1. They added three more in the sixth inning to force a run-rule victory.

Shandrea Lockridge went 2 for 4 with one RBI and Camden McGloster went 2 for 3.

With last night’s win VHS is now set as the No. 3 seed in the district as they are entering the playoffs. They will face Grenada High School next week for round one.
