VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Visitors to Vicksburg Intermediate School will notice new signage as they enter the school parking lot following an unveiling event honoring students who scored a perfect score on state tests last year.

Each of the 17 students who are still enrolled at VIS and scored a perfect score on state tests in either English Language Arts (ELA) or math were able to unveil a poster with their names and photos as a way to commemorate their achievement.

The unveiling was held Thursday, Oct. 16 at the school prior to the awards day program.

VIS Principal LaKesha Batty said the event and posters were only possible because of the hard work of the school’s parent committee.
