Warren Central Mu Alpha Theta places in multiple categories at state math competition
COLUMBUS, Miss.(VDN) — The Warren Central High School Mu Alpha Theta Math Team placed in multiple categories at a math competition hosted by the Mississippi School of Mathematics and Science in Columbus.
Competing against 22 schools from across the state, Warren Central finished seventh overall and earned several top placements.
The team’s results included:
- 1st place — Calculus ciphering
- 3rd place — Interschool competition
- 5th place — Calculus written test
- 7th place — Overall team standings
- 8th place — Geometry written test
- 8th place — Trigonometry/Precalculus ciphering
- 9th place — Geometry team ciphering
Anh Phung helped secure first place in calculus ciphering by overtaking the second-place team in the final round.
