WCJHS advances to the Little Six Tournament after defeating VJHS 22-17

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Warren Central Junior High School girls’ basketball team earned a spot in the Little Six Tournament. The Lady Vikes defeated Vicksburg Junior High School 22-17 last night.

VJHS had control of the game in the first half as they went up 9-2 after Ka’Mya Wilson got them on the board on a few occasions. Amelia Jackson scored the two points in the first half for WCJHS.

Coming out of halftime, Skyla Cosby took control of things for the Lady Vikes as she hit a big 3-pointer along with a couple of free throws. The Missy Gators stayed ahead in the third 14-11 after Wilson, Erien Hall, and Labria Rouson all hit shots. 

WCJHS took over things in the fourth quarter as Cosby nailed another 3-pointer while Jornei Lane came alive and put up some productive points.

For WCJHS, Cosby led with 12 points and Lane added six. Jackson finished with four points.

For VJHS, Wilson had 10 points while Rouson added three. Hall and Jeffries both scored two points a piece.
