WCJS sweeps crosstown rival Vicksburg in junior high volleyball

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Warren Central Junior High swept crosstown rival Vicksburg Junior High in volleyball Thursday, with both the seventh- and eighth-grade teams earning victories. The win puts WCJHS with a 7-0 record under Head Coach LaToya Lumpkin.

The eighth-grade Lady Vikes rolled to a 25-7, 25-7 win behind a strong all-around effort from Laney Bennett, who finished with 15 service points, two aces and two kills. Raegan Dean added two kills, while Kylie Pool chipped in with eight points.

In the seventh-grade match, Warren Central claimed a 25-16, 25-8 victory. Cambria Fuller led the way with 10 points, and Kyla Sloan contributed two aces to spark the sweep.

The teams will meet again on Sept. 10 in another crosstown showdown.
