VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A 17-year-old female was struck by a bullet in a shooting described as a drive-by shooting.

At 7:19 p.m. Saturday night, a 17-year-old girl was struck by a bullet in the 3900 block of North Washington. According to Vicksburg Police Captain Curtis Judge, a car drove by, spraying bullets. The 17-year-old was struck in her side. She was taken to an area hospital by a family member, where she was treated and released.

According to Vicksburg Police Captain Curtis Judge, “Shell casings were recovered at the scene and we are investigating the shooting.”
