VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — Mason Watts, a Vicksburg native, has completed his third year of Mason’s Closet, a community clothing drive aimed at helping those in need.

This year’s donations were distributed to Haven House and the city’s community closet located in Alderman T.J. Mayfield’s office. Watts also partnered with Alderman Mayfield and his office to help establish a community closet in the same suite as the alderman’s office at City Hall to assist less fortunate residents.

Drop-off locations for donations included St. Aloysius, River City Early College, and City Hall. Contributions from families, friends and coworkers resulted in the collection of five boxes and three large bags of winter items, including hats, jackets, scarves, gloves and coats.

“I feel like this year’s collection went great; a lot of families and individuals are going to positively benefit,” Watts said.
