A Warren County Sheriff’s Office deputy was injured Thursday in a motorcycle crash on U.S. 61 South.

Deputy Mitt Goza has been identified as the deputy involved in the crash.

Goza was wrapping up his shift and was en route back to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office when his motorcycle struck a piece of debris in the roadway, causing him to lose control and crash. No other vehicles were involved.

Goza was riding one of the sheriff’s office’s Harley-Davidson patrol motorcycles at the time of the crash.

Goza was alert following the crash and was being transported by ambulance to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
