3 MGCCC Bulldogs named All-Region 23

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast put three players on the All-NJCAA Region 23 football team after voting conducted by the region’s coaches.

Running back Trey Hall, wide receiver JP Coulter and linebacker Montrell Chapmanearned spots on the squad and are now eligible for NJCAA All-American consideration.

Hall, a sophomore from Vicksburg, ran for 1,098 yards in 10 games, ranking third in the NJCAA with 109.8 yards per game. He had 13 rushing touchdowns, second-most in the MACCC, and his 7.4 yards per carry ties the school record for a season.

Coulter, a sophomore from Ocean Springs, led Gulf Coast with 48 catches for 860 yards and 11 touchdowns. His 86.0 yards per game and 11 touchdowns are second-best in the NJCAA, and his 17.9 yards per catch tops the MACCC. 

Chapman, a sophomore from Batesville, is fourth in the MACCC with 74 total tackles. His 44 assists led the Bulldogs, and his 30 tackles were second.

The NJCAA All-Americans will be released Dec. 23.
