Argument in hotel room leads to shots fired
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Two people were shot in what is believed to be a domestic dispute that has escalated into shots being fired.
Just before 4:45 a.m., police were dispatched to the ASAM Hotel in the 4000 block of Washington Street for a shooting. The first units to arrive discovered a male with a gunshot wound to the leg. A few minutes later, units were dispatched to the Circle K in the 4100 block of Washington Street for a female with a gunshot wound.
Police stated the couple was in a physical confrontation over the gun in their room at the ASAM. Shots were fired either in the room or just outside the room, with one of the victims receiving a gunshot wound to the leg, and a bullet grazed the other. Neither of their injuries was life-threatening. The man was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
In addition to the Vicksburg Police, Rescue, Engine 7, Fire Medic 40, and Fire Medic 80 responded to the scene.
