Two convicted sex offenders have been arrested in Warren County for violating sex offender registry requirements.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace announced that Zachary Tarvin and 61-year-old Michael Funches have both been taken into custody and are being held at the Warren County Jail without bond.

According to Pace, the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office notified the Warren County Sheriff’s Office that Tarvin had been arrested after being placed in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) system by WCSO for a sex offender registry violation.

In 2025, Tarvin reported to his registrar in Hinds County that he was moving to Warren County but failed to notify Warren County authorities of his relocation.

Hinds County officials contacted WCSO Lt. Stacy Rollison, who conducted an investigation into the address Tarvin had provided. Rollison discovered that the residence was vacant.

The case was later presented to a grand jury, which returned an indictment against Tarvin.

According to the state of Mississippi’s sex offender registry, Tarvin is a registered sex offender following a 2011 statutory rape conviction.

In a separate case, Funches was arrested after reporting to his probation office in Vicksburg.

Authorities had issued a warrant for Funches after he failed to keep his electronic monitoring device charged, a requirement stemming from a previous sex offender registry violation.

According to WCSO, Funches had failed to keep the device charged for approximately three months.

After learning that Funches was scheduled to report to his probation officer Monday, deputies arranged to take him into custody upon his arrival.

Funches was arrested at the probation office and charged with a sex offender registry violation.

According to the state sex offender registry, Funches is required to register as a sex offender following a 1995 rape conviction.
