One shot on Halls Ferry
One person was shot at a convenience store on Halls Ferry in Vicksburg. The victim was taken to a local hospital, and police are investigating the incident that occurred shortly before 11 a.m.
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — One person has been shot on Halls Ferry at the convenience store in Marcus Bottom.
At about 10 minutes before 11 a.m., shots rang out near the gas pumps of the convenience store on Halls Ferry in Marcus Bottom. According to two eyewitnesses, a red Toyota Tacoma was parked on the south side of the lot and a group of people were there. At some point, someone fired a gun striking one of the people.
The injured person was loaded into a grey SUV and taken to an area hospital. Vicksburg Police at the hospital indicated the person’s wounds did not appear to be life threatening, but the victim was being transported to a Jackson hospital for further treatment.
The Vicksburg Police are actively investigating this incident. The Vicksburg Daily News will update this story as more information becomes available.
