Vicksburg woman sentenced after selling meth to undercover officer
VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — A Vicksburg woman has been sentenced after pleading guilty to selling methamphetamine to an undercover officer. Judge James Chaney sentenced Elizabeth Heather Wright to 15 years in prison, with three years to serve and five years of post-release supervision.
Assistant District Attorney Branan Southerland represented the state in the case.
In September 2025, Wright was arrested following a joint investigation by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and the Vicksburg Police Department. The operation was led by Jeff Merritt of the sheriff’s office and Donnie Heggins of the Vicksburg Police Department. Investigators conducted surveillance and documented Wright selling methamphetamine to an undercover officer.
After her initial arrest, Wright was granted a $50,000 bond, but a detainer was also issued because she is currently on felony probation from a prior conviction. Wright also has a pending sentence on federal charges.
