Key City Park makes profit in May, set to hold free concert in July

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg’s Key City Park continues to be a major revenue driver for the city and is set host its first free concert in July.
Ryan Kennard, Director at Key City Park, appeared before the Board of Mayor and Alderman, Thursday, June 25, to inform the Board of the profits made in May.
According to Kennard’s report, the park had 9,900 spectators and 2,825 players for the month of May. Additionally, the park saw its best financial performance of the year.
The park had a total revenue of $106,025 and only paid out $34,221.
“The team did a great job of only ordering the bare minimum and getting that $70,000 profit,” said Kennard to the Board.
In total, the park helped generate approximately $2,400,000 in economic impact on the local economy during May.
Kennard also urged people to attend the upcoming free concert at the park during July. The event set for Thursday, July 30, is free to the public, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
The concert is part of Blake Robert’s Hometown album tour across all 50 states with a stop right here in the River City.
The event is slated to be held from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the park located at 255 Fisher Ferry Road. Food from local vendors which will be on site.
