Vicksburg man involved in fatal crash in Oregon

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A Vicksburg man was involved in a fatal vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash Monday, June 22, in Klamath County, Oregon.
According to Oregon State Police reports, Larry Dotson, 44, of Vicksburg, Miss., was driving a commercial freight-liner vehicle at around 10 p.m. on Highway 97 when he hit a pedestrian in the roadway.
The preliminary investigation indicated Scott Henry Beggio, 67, of Klamath Falls, Ore., was in the roadway attempting to catch his dog, which had run into the road.
When law enforcement officers arrived on scene, Beggio was pronounced deceased. Dotson reported no injuries.
According to reports the highway and travel were impacted for approximately five hours due to the crash.
OSP was assisted by the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office, Chemult Rural Fire Protection District, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
