Vicksburg man killed in motorcycle collision

According to the Vicksburg Police Department, officers responded to the intersection after receiving reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. When officers arrived, they found Robinson, the motorcycle operator, suffering from injuries sustained in the crash.

The motorcyclist, Marlon Robinson, was pronounced deceased by Deputy Warren County Coroner Daryl Carson.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Vicksburg Police Department.

The Vicksburg Police Department released this statement soon after the accident:

“The Vicksburg Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle crash involving a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle that occurred at the intersection of First North Street and Clay Street.

On June 29, 2026, officers responded to the intersection following reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. Upon arrival, officers located the motorcycle operator, identified as Marlon Robinson, who sustained injuries as a result of the crash.

Robinson was transported to Merit Health River Region before being airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson for further medical treatment.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, identified as Laquita Smith, was transported to the Vicksburg Police Department as part of the ongoing investigation.”
